Bromsgrove Lions Club is a part of Lions Clubs
International, and 1.3 million Lions in over 43,000 clubs in
202 countries and geographic regions worldwide all share
similar objectives.
60 clubs and 1100 Lions members in the Midlands make up our
“District” (105M).
In Summer 2009 Bromsgrove club
members hosted Youth Exchange participants sponsored by clubs
in Japan and the Czech Republic.
In March 2009 the Worcestershire clubs hosted the District
Convention at the Bromsgrove Hilton, with Bromsgrove Lions as
the home club.
Membership offers unparalleled opportunities for social
interaction, and co-operation in district, national and
international service ideas and projects. Many Lions
have made friends around the world through the
organisation.
Bromsgrove Lions support selected international projects,
from major campaigns like "Campaign Sight First II*" from the
Lions Clubs International Foundation*, through District led
"North
Sea Lions " projects, to direct sponsoring of a medical
student in Sri Lanka. Although the club spends a limited
amount of its budget in this area, the money makes a big
impact, for example, our donations to "Campaign Sight First
II" have been sufficient to save the sight of 500 people since
2007.
